Software Developer (PHP/mySQL)
Department: Technology
Office: Ann Arbor
This is a contract opening but applicants should have an interest in obtaining fulltime employment within a period of six to nine months.
Minimum Technical Requirements:
- At least 3 years professional software development
experience (Internet development) with C++, PHP, C# or
Java
- At least 1 year’s experience with PHP and mySQL
- Some data modeling experience and familiarity with
indexes for performance tuning
Bonus points for:
- Browser coding experience (DHTML, JavaScript, XHTML,
W3C standards, etc.)
- 3 tiered development experience (design separating
data storage, business logic and user interface components)
- Solid object oriented design skills in a load-balanced
application (familiar with separating data entity objects
from business logic objects for scalability and passing
objects between tiers, etc.)
- Familiarity with online communities, web collaboration,
content management, enterprise systems development
Desired Qualities:
- Communicate clearly (verbal and written), get your
ideas across and design with peers
- Take ownership of a piece of the product, bring your
own ideas forward and be a self-starter
- Follow departmental coding standards and policies
(source control, code/design reviews, unit tests, etc.)
- Deliver quality product on-time; meet a schedule
